The School and it's Managment

THE GSME is a private sector institution with the expressed object of organizing and providing facilities and assistance for higher degrees, research, training and consulting.It is directed by a board of management, and assisted by a number of professional groups who serve as resource persons.


For the purpose of academic programs, GSME works with the Horizons University in France, which is an accredited and respected university in the European Community. It works through Clamp Holding, the Agent in Sri Lanka, and operates as an e-university in the offering of course work and supervision of research.


The GSME serves adult groups of clients such as senior managers, entrepreneurs, business leaders, professionals and academics. Assistance can be obtained to find a foreign university program leading to a Doctoral degree/MPhil. degree, and to guide from the stage of proposal development to thesis completion. Executive training and consultancy services are provided to individuals and organizations.

We conduct higher degree programs on an individual basis. After assessing the suitability for admission, applications will be submitted to the University for consideration. Guidance on a personal basis will be provided through both online and scheduled meetings with the candidate.  Meetings will be held mostly at 48/1, First lane, Weera Mw., Kalalgoda, Pannipitiya. Similarly, the standards certificate courses for individuals will be conducted both online and interactive mode, at the same venue. Programs for organizations will be conducted in the venues preferred by the client organization.

Resource Staff

Brief Profile of Professor Gunapala Nanayakkara: {BPA(Vidyo), MPA(York), PhD(Carleton)}, is better known as the  founding Director of the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. He is also known as the Management Guru of Sri Lanka, for pioneering advanced management education and development in the early 1980s and leading the field till his retirement from the University in 2012.  .


As an accredited writer, he has published dozens of scholarly articles as well as books on management. His services to higher education were recognized in 2005 by the Presidential Award of Sikhamani being awarded to him. He was also awarded the degree of D. Lit (Honoris Cousa) by University of Sabaragamuwa in 2005. In the professional fields of banking, human resource management, and health administration he has been awarded Fellowship of Sri Lanka Institute of Bankers, Fellowship of the Institute of Personnel Management, and Fellowship of the College of Medical Administrators of Sri Lanka, respectively.


Among the many important positions he has held in addition include Vice-Charman, University Grants Commission, Managing Director (PIM International Center in the UAE), and Director-General, National Institute of Education, Ministry of Education.


Internationally, Prof. Nanayakkara has held prestigious US Fulbright Research Senior Fellowship (1988/89), and the Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship tenable in Canada from 1974-1979. He has been Asst. Professor in development administration at University of Ottawa (1983/84), Associate Professor of strategic management at Whittemore School of Business, University of New Hampshire, USA, and Associate Professor of Human Resource Management at University of New Brunswick, Canada (1999/2001).
